This an original vintage movie one sheet for the 1945 Universal film noir classic “Scarlet Street” directed by Fritz Lang, produced by Walter Wagner & starring Edward G Robinson, Joan Bennett (Wanger’s wife at time) & Dan Duryea. It is based on a 1931 Jean Renoir film.
This 1945 film poster one sheet (27.25” x 41”) for the classic, influential film noir thriller “Scarlet Street” is in good to very good condition. Restoration has addressed pinholes, minor tears, fold wear/chips/separation, edge chipping & paper loss in the right edge. In addition, borders have been partially airbrushed. Overall the colors & design are vibrant & it displays quite well. See photo images.
The three main actors had earlier appeared together in another notable film noir from this period, “The Woman in the Window”(1944), also directed by Lang. A “Variety” review said “Fritz Lang's production & direction ably project the sordid tale of romance between a milquetoast character & a gold-digging blonde ... “
